Author and playwright Michael McManus talks to Yang-May Ooi about his play An Honourable Man set in a dystopic post-Brexit world…
Michael McManus on An Honourable Man CCV005 ¦ Creative Conversations [podcast]
Michael McManus is a writer, a campaigner and a former parliamentary candidate who has worked behind the scenes in the UK government. He has now drawn from his lifetime in politics to write a play set in a world after Brexit in the not too distant future. The title An Honourable Man is taken from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar which should tell you something about its big themes…
I was thrilled that Michael took time out from the current run of the play at the White Bear Theatre in London to talk to me about what inspired him to write An Honourable Man and about his creative process in transforming his political experience into a disturbing, thought provoking drama.
The play is on until 08 December 2018 at the White Bear Theatre in London – go see it if you can!
